The high speed optical sensor SLE5 is a recent sensor model. How the wireless Industrial Internet of Things, or IIoT, is bringing the factory of tomorrow, today. (video: Banner Engineering)
The model is a rugged, industrial label detection high speed optical sensor SLE5. Its high performance, fast switching frequency, and compact housing are ideal for labeling machines.
The SLE5 can detect single layer as well as multilayer booklet labels, such as coupons or instructions and is perfect for the needs of the pharmaceutical sector. It is also used in food and beverage applications.
SLE5 can detect as small as a 0.5 mm minimum label

The small infrared light spot of the SLE5 can quickly detect the gap between opaque labels on clear or opaque backing.
The 5 mm slot width and 50 mm slot depth allow precise detection of a wide variety of products, including multilayer booklet labels.
The SLE5 can detect as small as a 0.5 mm minimum label or gap width. The 40µs response speed (12.5 kHz switching frequency) increases position accuracy and ensures precise detection and placement on fast moving production lines.
Easy to use the label sensor. It can be taught via single teach button or remote teach wire

The SLE5 label sensor can be taught via single teach button or remote teach wire and can be configured to detect the label or the backing paper based on teach order.
Teach mode can be performed either statically or dynamically at speeds up to 20 meters per minute.
Highly visible green and amber status LEDs confirm that the teach was accepted and display the current output status.
The high speed optical sensor SLE5 is simple to install in the dispensing ledge
The SLE5 label sensor’s compact housing makes it easy to install in the dispensing ledge. The dovetail mounting option is designed for simple installation directly on machines, no tools required.
In addition, standard M5 mounting holes are available for maximum versatility. Models are available with 2 m cables or integral M8 connector and with NPN or PNP output. The applications are processing, packaging machinery and automatic labelers.
